The Neurology Department's renowned clinicians and researchers continue to successfully compete for highly competitive National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants to drive innovative research in collaboration with interdisciplinary centers and institutes across Northwestern University. As such, our department is consistently ranked in the top 10 in the U.S. for overall funding from the NIH. Additionally, our faculty is active in 100+ medical and research organizations and societies and many serve as reviewers for top medical journals.
In the 2020 Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Medical School Graduation Questionnaire on quality of educational experience, the percentage of Feinberg School of Medicine graduates answering "good" or "excellent" placed the neurology clerkship in the 90th percentile nationally among all medical schools and as the highest rated clerkship at Northwestern.
The department is supported by more than 200 faculty and about 500 total staff members.
